A novel latching system applied to R-type waveguide switch of W-band

Latching system is a part of waveguide switches which provide the detent torque for maintaining the switch position when the switch switched. However, as the frequency increases, the traditional latching system no longer works. In this paper, a novel constitution of latching system is introduced. A R-type waveguide switch operating at W-band with the new constitution is manufactured and measured. The measured results agree well with the simulated results.
