A Sequence-Generator-Based Low-Complexity Frequency Domain Multiplexing Multi-Beam Receiving Front End

This work presents a sequence-generator-based frequency domain multiplexing (FDM) multi-beam receiving front-end architecture. The proposed architecture adopts synchronous complex sequence generators to adjust the phase and gain of each channel periodically, so that the input signal is modulated to different frequencies with independent gains and phases. Compared to conventional multi-beam receivers, the proposed architecture reduces the number of phase and gain channels, which can greatly reduce system complexity and power consumption. The FDM scheme minimizes the number of beam signal lines by reusing the same line at different frequencies, which relaxes the signal distribution network design requirement.
