Smart IoT-Enabled Electric Vehicle with Wireless Charging Integration

The increasing popularity of Electric Vehicles (EVs) necessitates efficient, user-friendly, and long-term charging alternatives that extend beyond traditional wired methods. This study offers a smart IoT-enabled wireless EV charging system that uses Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) for continuous energy delivery, reducing mechanical wear while increasing automation. The system’s transmitter and receiver coil topology eliminates the need for charging wires, as AC power is rectified using a diode bridge and wirelessly delivered to the electric vehicle battery. To enable automatic charging, an Arduino Uno microcontroller monitors key parameters such as temperature, voltage, and vehicle detection. A NodeMCU Wi-Fi module provides IoT connectivity and real-time data transmission to a cloud-based platform for remote monitoring and control, improving energy management. In addition, a relay driver enhances safety by managing the charging process. This approach improves charging efficiency and accessibility by easily integrating IoT, WPT, and real-time monitoring, allowing for long-term, intelligent EV charging.
