Waste-to-Energy Conversion System for Efficient Power Generation and Environmental Sustainability

The increasing challenges in waste management, coupled with a growing demand for renewable energy, have called for innovative approaches in addressing both of these issues. This paper addresses a waste-to-energy system utilizing heating panels for the conversion of thermal energy obtained from waste combustion into electrical energy. The main components of this system include the burning chamber, heating panels, LED indicators, and a rechargeable battery that stores energy. Based on the photovoltaic effect, the heating panels produce a collective output of 24 W; this is spread over four panels, which make 6 W each in theory. The proposed system demonstrates efficient energy conversion with waste consumption rate equal to about $\mathbf{8 6. 4}$ grams per hour, assuming thermal-to-electric conversion efficiency was $\mathbf{1 0 \%}$ efficient. Such a rechargeable battery would offer continuous operation supported by the supply of surplus energies, and its LEDs would feedback the energy output in real- time. This kind of study on the integration of waste management along with renewable technologies has the chance to develop some scalable and highly environmentally sustainable applications. The proposed system results in the reduction of waste volumes and provides clean, renewable electricity, thus contributing to global efforts toward sustainable energy transitions.
