Defect Detection and Analysis in Solar Panel using VGG Algorithm

Solar energy which known as a renewable energy source. Solar Panels faces many issues due to external factors which affects the performance of the solar panel. The factors include settlement of dust particle, bird droppings, electrical damage and physical damage includes circuit fault, cracks, breakage of the panel etc. These kinds of damage reduce the energy production as the light reaches the damaged solar cells doesn’t provide proper energy. Solar panel have to be maintained well so that it can perform efficiently. Manual monitoring process is ineffective, costly, and consumes more time. To provide a solution, VGG algorithm can be used in an defect detection model. In this model, the deep learning algorithm is used to detect and identify the fault in solar cells from image dataset. This method improves the performance of the solar panel by increasing efficiency and reduces the maintenance cost.
