Innovative Multiport Converter for Solar-Assisted Electric Vehicles: Enhanced Power Handling and High Efficiency with Minimal Components

Electric vehicles (EVs) with integrated solar panels provide a potential answer to the problems of frequent recharging and limited mobility. Optimizing solar energy collection during partially shadowing circumstances is possible using Dynamical Power Handling (DPH) conversions, and transferring renewable energy to the higher-voltage batteries effectively is the job of an independent higher boost converters. Furthermore, a buck converter efficiently connects directly to the low-voltage accessory bus. The use of individual converters to execute those functionalities, nevertheless, improves the element counts and lowers the power densities. This work presents a new multiport converter that is tailored for solar-assisted electric vehicles. It incorporates solar direct photovoltaic DPH, a separate higher-voltage outputs port, and a low-voltages ports. The suggested layout improves system performance with a small number of switches and an easy way of controlling for individual ports modulation. A $220-\mathrm{W}$ model was used for its robustness verification, and it was found that the distribution of renewable energy through the lowerand high-voltage ports achieved a maximum efficiency of $98 \%$.
