Conceptualization and Implementation of a Threshold-Adjustable Mechanism in Fluid-Based Contact Counter Systems

This paper introduces a threshold-adjustable mechanism for robotic systems, inspired by reflexive biological processes. By modifying its response threshold through an external meta-input, the mechanism dynamically adapts to changing environmental conditions, thereby enhancing overall situational responsiveness. The core design features a pneumatic circuit combined with a contact counter that triggers actions after multiple inputs and resets through an adjustable aperture. Experimental results demonstrate the mechanism’s capacity to alternate between low and high response thresholds, allowing for rapid reactions in critical scenarios while providing greater resistance in safety modes.
