CS-Chain: Cross-Chain Query Scheme Based on Chain-Shard Combination

In cross-chain query scenarios, multiple types of heterogeneous blockchain networks have well emerged. Due to the involvement of multiple types of blockchains, it is difficult to correlate cross-chain transaction messages on different chains during cross-chain query. Therefore, to address the problems of difficult message association, we propose cs-chain, a cross-chain query scheme based on chain-shard combination and dependency chain. The scheme designs a two-layer architecture based on the dependency blockchain and transaction blockchain, which realizes the fast correlation of cross-chain transactions. Specifically, on the dependency chain, we use the inverted index data structure, which assistant to find the related chains for a transaction. On the other hand, we introduce blockchain sharding technology in the transaction blockchain, which significantly optimizes the data storage efficiency by storing data distributedly into multiple shards. Experimental results show that cs-chain scheme significantly reduces the query latency in multiple scenarios, which fully demonstrates the superior performance in complex cross-chain scenarios compared with the state of the art schemes.
