Innovative Design of a Multi-Input, Multi-Output Boost Converter for Smart and Scalable Power Solutions

Boost converters enhance input-to-output voltage, two power converters: DC-DC and DC-AC. By quickly turning on and off, switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) increase efficiency and lower energy loss. SMPS was transformed by the invention of solid-state switches in the 1950s, which also made boost converter research possible. These converters use high-capacitance, high-voltage capacitors to release energy that has been stored in an inductor. Bipolar transistors or MOSFETs, which are chosen according to performance requirements, control power switching. The development of switching technology by the 1960s opened the door for small and effective DC-DC converters. In this research work, a novel multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) boost converter that is specifically designed for effective DC voltage stepping in small power systems is developed. With the use of fast-switching solid-state components such power MOSFETs and bipolar transistors, the converter may operate both DC-DC and DC-AC. This reduces losses and enhances energy transfer. Drawing from developments in switch mode power supply (SMPS) technology, the suggested system uses an LC structure and a microcontroller-based control approach to boost voltage from low input levels (5.5V and 12.5V) to a variable output range of 6.5V to 36.5V. High efficiency, a broad working voltage range, fewer components, and a low duty cycle are all highlighted in the design, which makes it the perfect choice for contemporary applications such as LED drivers, electric vehicle battery systems, and small renewable energy systems. Recent advancements in power electronics are reflected in the converter's architecture, which offers improved scalability and flexibility for intelligent power control.
