Design of a Split Square Fractal-Shaped Metamaterial Absorber for 5G Applications

A metamaterial absorber (MMA) with a split square fractal design that is both novel and subwavelength in nature has been proposed. It boasts an EMR (effective medium ratio) of 12.05, which is an astonishingly high value. Thanks to its exceptional performance in the S, C, and X bands, this absorber is perfect for state-of-the-art Wi-Fi and 5G applications. At the 2.77 GHz, 3.6 GHz, 6.78 GHz, and 9.49 GHz resonance frequencies, the absorption rates are an incredible 99.99%, 98.27%, 91.87%, and 90.4%, respectively. With its negative refractive index, permittivity, and permeability, this design exemplifies the characteristics of a single-negative metamaterial (MM). The absorber also doesn't care about the polarization angle, therefore, it can keep performing well even when the incidence angle is as high as 180 degrees.
