Theoretical Study of Compressive Strain-Induced Optoelectronic and Mechanical Properties of $\text{Sr}_{3}\text{AsBr}_{3}$ Perovskite

Perovskite materials' mechanical and optoelectronic properties have drawn a lot of attention lately because of their possible use in photovoltaics, photodetectors, and other optoelectronic devices. In order to observe changes in optical, mechanical, and electrical properties, we examine the idea of compressive strain-based modifications in the perovskite material $\text{Sr}_{3}\text{AsBr}_{3}$. Using Density Functional Theory (DFT), computational simulations with the program “Material Studio-CASTEP,” and a comparison of the results with earlier experimental investigations, we examine the significant effects of A-cation on the electrical, optical, and mechanical properties of $\text{Sr}_{3}\text{AsBr}_{3}$ perovskite. We demonstrate how we can effectively modify the characteristics of perovskite materials by adjusting their compressive strain, which can then be used in real-world applications like solar cells.
