Application of Genetic Algorithms in Optimum Design of Control Winding of Controllable Reactor of Transformer Type

Control winding is the key component of controllable reactor of transformer type (CRT) and can ensure good performance of CRT. Optimization design for control winding can also provide important guidance for the design and manufacture of CRT. Firstly, in this paper, the cost calculation model of CRT control winding is analyzed based on the CRT structure. Then, control winding cost is proposed to be taken as the optimization goal, and the optimization model of CRT is established. Secondly, according to advantages of genetic algorithm in solving nonlinear optimization problems, the genetic algorithm is determined to solve the CRT optimization design. Through the analysis of the optimization results, it can be seen that the cost of CRT control winding is lower, and the control winding series is less at the same time, than those of the original scheme, when the constrains are satisfied. which shows the correctness of the optimization model on the control winding of CRT. At the same time, it also proves that genetic algorithm is effective and feasible for solving CRT optimization problems.
