Communication Link Design and Budget Analysis for JSS Nanosatellite Project

This paper presents a comprehensive description of JSS ground station, design of cubesat communication link and its budget analysis for the ongoing JSS Nanosatellite (JNANAM) project. The study focuses on evaluating two prominent antenna types, 14 element Yagi-Uda and Eggbeater, for their suitability in CubeSat communication systems operating in the UHF band at 430-440 MHz. The results demonstrate the trade-off between directional and omnidirectional antennas, highlighting the superior gain and directivity of the Yagi-Uda antenna versus the broader coverage of the Egg-Beater antenna.
