Spectrum-Guided Sorting in NSGA-III for Cooperative SAR Configuration Optimization

This paper investigates the configuration optimization of a cooperative synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system, with the objective of enhancing high-resolution imaging under spatial spectral constraints. A wavenumber-spectraldomain analytical model is established to quantify the impact of the layout on spectral support coverage, continuity, and alignment. Based on this model, a constrained multi-objective optimization framework is introduced, which incorporates three interpretable metrics for evaluating performance. To address the optimization problem effectively, a modified NSGA-III algorithm is developed, integrating Deb’s feasibility rules and a customized sorting strategy guided by the spectral structure. Simulation results and Monte Carlo experiments confirm that the proposed method achieves superior convergence stability, spectral consistency, and layout feasibility, thereby demonstrating significant potential for practical implementation in cooperative SAR design.
