IEE-PAR: Improved Energy Efficient-Power Aware Routing for Reliable QoS in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks

In MANET, power consumption is a significant design criterion, since their nodes operate via batteries, which are constrained. However, to fully utilize the node's lifetime, routing maximizes the power consumption of the process. To address the challenges in Improved Energy-Efficient PowerAware Routing (IEE-PAR), a solution is proposed in this paper that minimizes overall power consumption and network overhead, thereby increasing network longevity. The Routing algorithm prioritizes selecting energy-efficient routes that meet bandwidth requirements. Moreover, IEE-PAR comprises two phases: In the first phase of discovering the Route, a DSR-based routing mechanism is used to build position-oriented routing that considers bandwidth and power constraints. The evaluation of the proposed model was accomplished using the NS-2.34 simulator to determine parameters such as end-to-end delay, throughput, packet loss, and network lifetime. The results of some comparisons of traditional routing mechanisms show a decrease in overhead and an increase in network lifetime by approximately 20%.
