FPGA-Implementation of Lossless Integer Tchebichef Transform With Application for Tampering Detection in ROI Medical Images

This research introduces efficient algorithms for the forward and inverse lossless Integer-to-Integer Tchebichef Transform (I2ITT), tailored for resource-constrained embedded systems. These algorithms are then implemented on FPGA using fixed-point arithmetic for lossless image reconstruction. The paper further explores an application of the proposed I2ITT algorithms for tampering detection in medical images, presenting a new scheme that detects tampered Regions of Interest (ROIs) in medical images transmitted over insecure channels. Detailed descriptions of the proposed algorithms, their FPGA implementation, simulations, and comparison results are provided, collectively demonstrating the efficiency of both the suggested FPGA design and the tampering detection scheme.
