Design and Control of Flyback Converter-Cascaded H-Bridge MLI fed Induction Motor Drive for Solar Water Pumping Application

This paper presents a Single Input Multiple Output (SIMO) flyback converter optimized with a cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter (MLI) for an Induction Motor Drive (IMD) used in solar water pumping applications. The proposed system enhances the efficiency and performance of solar water pumping by effectively managing power conversion and motor control. The SIMO flyback converter ensures multiple regulated outputs from a single solar photovoltaic (PV) source, improving power utilization. A saturated signal incorporated with the 13th harmonic signal is used to create the suggested modulation signal. The saturated 13th harmonic injected PWM (STHIPWM) is the name of the suggested modulating technique. The cascaded H-Bridge MLI enhances output voltage quality, reducing harmonics and improving the overall efficiency of the IMD. The integration of these power conversion stages optimizes system performance, ensuring stable and efficient operation even under varying solar conditions. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed topology in achieving higher efficiency, reduced total harmonic distortion (THD), and improved motor performance.
