Design and Implementation of FM 0 / Manchester Encoding Technique using Domino Logic

The complete design and implementation of the FM0 and Manchester encoding techniques employing domino logic are presented in this work. Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) systems are the primary application for the FM0/Manchester encoding technique. It plays a crucial role in promising high-speed, reliable communication. The proposed architecture uses domino logic which promises high speed, reduced transistor count, lower capacitance and efficient for complex logic. The domino logic had overcome the problem of power consumption due to transition between logic levels in static CMOS logic. The encoding technique is designed using cadence virtuoso tool in 90nm technology using both domino logic and static CMOS logic. The circuit designed using domino logic shows reduced power utilization by 31.96 %, area by 22.22 % and delay by 50.5 % when compared to static CMOS logic. The optimization of design metrics using domino logic will give promising future for DSRC applications and help in future innovation for wireless communication technology.
