Quantitative Modeling of Entrepreneurial Persistence After Business Failure Using PLS-SEM

Entrepreneurial failure is a common phenomenon, particularly among first-time business founders. However, such failure can serve as a catalyst for learning and future business engagement. This study aims to model the key psychological and experiential factors influencing entrepreneurial persistence following business venture failure. A quantitative research design was employed, involving 300 respondents who had previously experienced entrepreneurial failure. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that entrepreneurial self-efficacy and internal locus of control significantly enhance both perceived learning from failure and recovery capabilities. Furthermore, perceived learning and recovery capabilities positively influence the continuance of entrepreneurial engagement and recognition of new opportunities. These findings provide a data-driven foundation for understanding resilience in entrepreneurial behavior and offer insights for designing support systems to encourage re-engagement among failed entrepreneurs in dynamic business environments.
