Design of Fast Start-up Bandgap Voltage Reference

This study presents a fast start-up bandgap voltage reference (BGR) design using 180nm CMOS technology with improved performance. The proposed design achieved a fast start-up time of approximately 460 ns and low power consumption of 187 uW down to 79 uW when enabled. The design also exhibited PVT (Process, Voltage, and Temperature) insensitivity, making it suitable for various environmental conditions. Additionally, the BGR design demonstrated excellent PSRR (Power Supply Rejection Ratio) performance of 80 dB at a frequency of 100 Hz to 40 dB at a frequency of 100 kHz. The fast start-up BGR design is essential in various applications that require a fast start-up time and relatively low power consumption, such as portable and battery-powered devices, and it provides a reliable solution to meet the increasing demand for efficient and fast electronic systems.
