Analysis of Coprolalia Latah Disorder Using Latah By Ezik Application on PGSD Students

Latah is a psychogenic speech disorder that manifests as involuntary utterances of inappropriate words, often seen in the coprolalia subtype, which can disrupt both social and educational environments. Despite its prevalence, the accurate identification and measurement of latah episodes remain challenging due to the subjective nature of diagnosis. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of the Latah By Ezik mobile application in diagnosing and quantifying coprolalia latah among PGSD (Elementary School Teacher Education) students at Universitas Esa Unggul. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative content analysis with data triangulation from observations, interviews, and documentation, alongside quantitative noise measurement using the application’s sound meter feature. The application utilizes speech-to-text and classification modules to identify and categorize latah episodes based on noise levels. The findings reveal a student exhibiting coprolalia latah, involuntarily uttering the word "Dogs" during a surprise stimulus, with the noise level measured at 47.78 dB, categorized as moderate. Analysis of the data indicates that emotional triggers, particularly surprise and irritation, are primary factors inducing coprolalia latah. The study demonstrates that the Latah By Ezik application is a promising tool for accurately diagnosing and quantifying coprolalia latah, offering potential for educational and clinical interventions. These results highlight the importance of technological tools in enhancing the management of speech disorders and suggest further research to improve diagnostic precision in real-world settings.
