AI and Deep Learning-Powered Threat Intelligence and Automated Response Mechanisms

The fast-growing development of security threats has resulted in more complex cyber-attacks that organizations need to deal with. Classic approach to threat detection based on the rule-based systems is losing effectiveness in the face of the complexity, the number and the quantity of the contemporary threats. This positions AI and DL as game-changing technologies that can take threat intelligence to the next level, and automate execution of responses. In this work, we survey the connection of AI and DL with Cybersecurity considering their use for anomaly detection, intrusion detection, predictive analysis of security issues and automation of the response to threats. The paper presents an overview of current AI-based technologies, then addresses the problems associated with organizations that use AI-based methods and provides an overview of continuing development using AI technology. By using AI +DL, companies can detect and respond to attacks more quickly and effectively, better fortifying their security stance and decreasing the odds of compromise during an attack.
