Determinants of Continuous Usage Intention in the MySiloam Mobile Health Application

The rapid development of mobile health (mHealth) technologies has transformed healthcare service delivery, making continuous user engagement a critical factor for sustained impact. This study investigates the determinants influencing continuous usage intention of the MySiloam mobile health application, a digital platform offering healthcare services in Indonesia. Grounded in the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), the research examines key behavioral constructs performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and user satisfaction as predictors of continued usage. A quantitative approach was employed involving 190 active users of the MySiloam app, selected through judgmental sampling. Data were collected via structured questionnaires utilizing a five point Likert scale and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that both performance expectancy and effort expectancy have significant positive effects on user satisfaction, and all three variables performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and satisfaction significant positive influence on continuous usage intention. Among these, satisfaction emerged as the strongest predictor, mediating the relationship between expectancy variables and usage intention. These findings underscore the importance of optimizing perceived usefulness and ease of use to enhance user satisfaction and promote long-term engagement with mHealth applications. The study provides empirical evidence for app developers and healthcare providers to design user-centered digital platforms that foster sustainable user adoption. Future research is encouraged to incorporate additional constructs such as trust, personalization, or health outcomes to enrich the behavioral model.
