Passivity Enhancement of the Output Admittance in Inverter-Side Current-Controlled-Based Inverters

This study introduces a method aimed at improving the robustness of grid-tied inverters. The method improves the inverter’s output admittance characteristic by incorporating a capacitor voltage feedforward scheme, which effectively removes the non-passive characteristics observed at higher frequencies. The proposed approach modifies only the output admittance, leaving the closed-loop system intact and thus does not increase the complexity of the system or the design procedure. This method is simple yet effective in stabilizing grid-connected inverters. Various theoretical analyses and simulations validate the performance of the proposed method, demonstrating its robustness and reliability in different scenarios. This technique offers a significant improvement over conventional methods, providing a straightforward yet powerful solution for enhancing the stability and reliability of grid-tied inverters.
