Analysis of the Multi-Resonance Q-SSR Resonator Method for Polylactic Acid Characterization

This study demonstrates the Q-SSR resonator method for extracting electromagnetic parameters of materials based on Polylactic Acid. The multi-resonance capability of the Q-SSR setup facilitates time-efficient measurements, while the retro-modeling approach ensures high accuracy in parameter extraction. A comparison with the SPDR method reveals strong correlation, with deviations confined within acceptable limits, particularly at the first resonance. Advanced numerical techniques, including the BoR-FDTD method and the Prony algorithm, further refine the precision of the extraction process. Variations in Q-factor and resonance frequency are well-explained through simulations, offering valuable insights into material properties. Despite minor errors, such as thickness variations in PLA samples, the methodology remains robust, with multiple measurements ensuring repeatability and minimizing uncertainties. Future work will focus on refining the experimental setup and extending the method's applicability to a broader range of materials and frequencies.
