A mathematical model of regression of diffuse coronary atherosclerosis

It has recently been found that diffuse coronary atherosclerosis in patients with refractory angina pectoris can significantly regress by promoting intracellular lipolysis. In this study, a mathematical model of the phenomenon in which diffuse coronary arteriosclerosis in patients with refractory angina pectoris regresses significantly by promoting intracellular lipolysis was derived by applying the mathematical model of arteriosclerosis onset that has been proposed so far. The results of numerical simulations of this mathematical model clarified the dependency of the degree and speed of regression of diffuse coronary atherosclerosis on various parameters. These results provide a mathematical understanding of the regression of diffuse coronary atherosclerosis and are expected to make a significant contribution to treatment planning.
