A Wide Load Range Output Capacitor-Less LDO With Load Tracking Zero Compensation for IoT Applications

In this article, a 0-to-200 mA wide load range output capacitor-less (OCL) low-dropout regulator (LDO) for IoT devices is presented. With load tracking zero compensation (LTZC), the proposed LDO achieves over 54° phase margin across the entire load range. Also, it incorporates dynamic slew-rate (SR) enhancer (DSRE) and hybrid biasing, ensuring fast transient response. The proposed LDO achieves an undershoot of 210 mV when the load changes from 10 to 200 mA. The chip is fabricated in a 0.18 μm CMOS process with an active area of 0.148 mm².
