A Study on Combining of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output and Channel Bonding in ATSC 3.0

This paper evaluates the performance of ATSC 3.0 system that integrates multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and channel bonding technologies. MIMO technology enables spatial multiplexing by employing multiple antennas at both the transmitter and receiver, thereby significantly increasing data rates. Additionally, channel bonding can improve data rates by utilizing additional RF channels. Combining MIMO and channel bonding can achieve even higher data rates. Simulation results compare the reception performance of the ATSC 3.0 system using MIMO, channel bonding, and the combined MIMO and channel bonding technologies.
