Review of enhancement technologies for IoT NTN network

Through a study of the demand and the research on integration on satellite and terrestrial networks, the network architecture for NB-IoT based on satellite system is put forward. This paper comprehensively analyzes the evolution of 3GPP standardization, focusing on critical technical innovations addressing satellite communication challenges. The study details key enhancements in timing synchronization mechanisms, mobility management and HARQ optimization strategies. Experimental evaluations demonstrate significant improvements in coverage extension, system capacity, and service reliability. Furthermore, the study presents a forward looking analysis of 3GPP technical roadmaps for regenerative satellite architectures and voice service support.
