A Comprehensive Framework to Design An Intent-driven Self-intelligent Orchestration Management Platform

The rapid evolution of 6G networks is characterized by intelligent, on-demand service provision and unprecedented challenges in network design, deployment and operation due to massive user access and diverse application scenarios. To address these challenges, this study proposes a novel framework that integrates a northbound self-intelligent orchestration management platform with a southbound wireless intelligent platform. Inspired by intent-based networking, the platform supports real-time customization and adaptation to specific service requirements. The development of this framework is informed by advancements in intent-based networking, standards in the European telecommunications standards institute, and open-source projects such as the open network automation platform. A video transmission use case with service-level agreement guarantees is implemented to demonstrate the capability of the platform for intent-driven service orchestration and optimization. Experimental results highlight the effectiveness of the platform in achieving dynamic adjustments, such as bandwidth allocation and encoding optimization, to improve the user experience. Compared to the default settings, the optimized configurations deliver significant improvements in video smoothness and latency stability. This study underscores the critical role of technology in meeting the stringent requirements of 6G networks, providing a robust foundation for intelligent and adaptive service delivery.
