Design of a Smart Sorting Trash Can Control System Based on Raspberry Pi

Garbage classification is a crucial aspect of modern urban management that cannot be overlooked. Implementing a certain level of trash sorting can significantly reduce the workload of sanitation workers and provide effective support for urban expansion and the reduction of urban management complexity. This paper presents the design of a smart trash bin equipped with a visual recognition module, among other features. The system utilizes the K210 module as the visual recognition component and the Raspberry Pi Pico as the main control unit. The K210 camera captures images of trash, which are then processed through logical operations and compared with an offline database. This enables the AI-powered automatic classification of various types of household trash.
