Design of Fall Detection System for the Elderly Based on STM32

Aiming at the high-incidence and severe-consequence falls of the elderly, this project designed an intelligent monitoring system using an STM32 microcontroller. The system combines heart-rate, posture-recognition, and GPS-positioning modules for real-time fall monitoring and precise location. It uses a 4G module and MQTT protocol to upload data to the Huawei Cloud IoT platform. An Android app is developed for remote monitoring and emergency alerts. When a fall is detected, the system triggers a local alarm, notifies the caregiver via the app, and shows key information on an OLED screen. This project improves elderly safety monitoring, optimizes family care, and innovates elder-care services.
