Optimization Design and Simulation Study of Straight Traffic Waiting Area for Autonomous Traffic

With the increase of social automobile holdings, the problem of urban traffic congestion is highlighted. In order to effectively improve the road utilization rate and alleviate the existing traffic congestion problem, this paper uses VISSIM simulation technology to analyze the traffic operation of Beijing College Bridge. Based on the results of the traffic simulation, the traffic measures of designing a straight waiting area integrating autonomous traffic system are proposed, and the retrofit scheme is analyzed and evaluated by VISSIM traffic microsimulation technology. The results show that the intersection queuing time and vehicle delays are significantly reduced after the addition of the autonomous traffic straight ahead waiting area, and the level of service efficiency of the intersection is significantly improved, which verifies the feasibility of the scheme.
