Experimental and molecular simulation study on the Influence Mechanism of Moisture on Fluorination Modification of Epoxy Resin Insulation Surface

Surface fluorination technology presents a feasible approach for the surface modification of insulating materials, attributed to its inherent advantages such as a simple process, established techniques, and economic efficiency. The application of epoxy resin as the inner insulation material in DC wall bushing can significantly enhance their electrical insulation performance through surface fluoridation treatment. In this study, the impact of moisture on epoxy resin insulation, both before and after fluoridation, is examined through a combination of molecular simulations and high voltage experiments. This research seeks to advance the broad application of surface fluoridation technology within the domain of insulating materials. The results indicate that surface fluoridation significantly improves the thermal stability, mechanical properties, and electrical strength of epoxy resin insulation materials. However, it has been observed that moisture significantly impacts the performance of fluorinated epoxy resin insulation materials, resulting in a decline in their properties. Nevertheless, through drying and timely treatment, the overall performance of fluorinated DC wall bushing shows significant improvement compared to the original casing. The aforementioned conclusions not only underscore the pivotal role of timely and sustained drying procedures in the fluorination modification of insulating surfaces, but also furnish a robust theoretical and empirical foundation for further investigation into the mechanisms and technological advancements of fluorination modification.
