Joint Traffic Splitting and Bandwidth Allocation in Dual Connectivity Systems with Statistical Service Guarantee for Immersive Communication

With the rapid development of 6G communication technology, immersive communication, as a key application scenario, imposes stringent requirements on network performance, particularly in terms of low latency and high throughput. Dual connectivity enhances network capacity and increases data transmission rates, effectively meeting these demands. In this paper, we propose a dual connectivity system model supporting the coexistence of WiFi and cellular networks. Specifically, we analyze delay constraints for cloud gaming downlink traffic based on the stochastic network calculus (SNC) framework. We then propose a joint optimization scheme aimed at minimizing the system’s maximum upper bound of queuing delay violation probability (UB-QDVP) by optimizing the traffic share between dual links and bandwidth allocation in the cellular network. The Stabilized Exploration Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (SE-DDPG) algorithm is proposed to achieve a stable solution. Simulation validates the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, and demonstrates significant performance improvements in the dual connectivity system.
