Efficient Three-Party ID-Based a Uthenticated Key Exchange Protocol for Mobile Computing Environments Using Pairing-Based Cryptography

Secure communication is the backbone of digital interactions, enabling everything from financial transactions and healthcare data sharing to confidential messaging and government operations. A single breach can lead to catastrophic consequences. So, it is crucial to establish key exchange protocols to generate a Shared Secret Key (SSK). Traditional protocol like Diffie-Hellman (DH) become inefficient for three-party case and requiring many rounds of interaction to establish SSK. One of the strategies to overcome this is by utilizing bilinear pairing in Pairing-Based Cryptography (PBC). Bilinear pairings function allow three participants to derive a SSK in a single communication round. These traditional protocols also lacks of key management and requiring complex certificate authority (CA) and verification processes. The IBC eliminates this need by allowing a user's identity such as an email address or a device ID to function directly as their public key and simplifies key management. Based on these existing limitations, we propose an efficient three-party ID-based authenticated key exchange protocol for mobile Computing environments by adopting the advantages of PBC and IBC.
