Real-Time Water Quality Monitoring on a Virtual Reality Platform as a Climate Action Support System

Climate change poses a significant threat to water availability in Indonesia, exacerbated by a lack of public awareness regarding water conservation. Conventional monitoring platforms like websites or mobile apps often lack the immersive experience needed to drive user engagement. This research proposes an innovative solution by developing a Virtual Reality (VR) platform integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) devices for real-time monitoring of water quality and carbon emissions. The system leverages immersive visualization in VR and real-time data from IoT sensors to create a practical simulation and monitoring tool. The platform is developed using the Unity engine and integrates data via a JSON API, enabling users to interact with and visualize environmental data in a fully immersive 3D environment. This approach aims to enhance public awareness and provide a powerful reference for government and industry in managing environmental impacts.
