Diode Rectifier-Based Medium-Voltage DC Collection System for Offshore Floating Photovoltaic

In order to alleviate the land resource constraints caused by the large-scale construction of photovoltaic plants, offshore floating photovoltaic (OFPV) has been recognized as a promising form of solar energy utilization. Therefore, how to realize efficient collection and transmission of large-scale OFPV has become a critical research topic. In this paper, to address the problems of excessive line losses in AC collection systems and manufacturing difficulties of high-capacity DC converters, a medium-voltage DC collection system based on diode rectifier is first proposed, with its advantages demonstrated through comparative analysis. Then the control objectives of OFPV inverters in this system are comprehensively analyzed, and a corresponding grid-forming control strategy is designed. Finally, a simulation model is developed in the PSCAD/EMTDC platform to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed collection scheme and control strategy.
