Precision Time Synchronization Measurement System Based on Shift Counting Method Using FPGA

An IEEE1588 time measurement system is proposed based on the need for high accuracy time synchronization performance in distributed systems. Time synchronization hardware device using IMX6UL-based PTP master and slave clocks. In the experiment, the master-slave clock synchronization measurement module adopts the Spartan6 chip from XILINX. In this paper, a high-precision pulse width measurement system based on FPGA digital phase-shifting technology is designed, which yields a measurement error of nanoseconds for the phase-shifting counting method, and the high-precision simulation results of the system are also given. The experimental results show that the proposed design scheme is stable and reliable, and can achieve nanosecond synchronization accuracy.
