A Dual-band Microwave Sensor For Solid Sensing

A dual-band microwave sensor for dielectric characterization of solid samples is presented in this paper. The structure of the sensor consists of a main transmission line, an open-circuited stub, and an asymmetric split ring resonator (AS-SRR). Based on the advantage of the electromagnetically induced transparency-like (EIT-like) effect with natural transmission peaks, the dual-band measurement function of the sensor has been achieved and underwent equivalent circuit analysis. Finally, simulation results using commercial samples show that the sensor achieves an average relative error of 5.6% and 3% and an average normalized sensitivity of 5.52% and 3.87%, validating its accuracy and high-sensitivity characteristics.
