Study of Microwave Energy Utilisation Efficiency Based on a Two-port Model

In recent years, the application of microwave energy has become more and more widespread in food, chemical and medical fields. Among them, microwave plasma has received extensive attention from scholars due to its advantages such as high electron density and power utilization efficiency. In the research of microwave plasma, the enhancement of energy utilization efficiency has been a worthy topic, and the optimization of energy utilization efficiency for two-port microwave plasma structures is relatively complex and computationally intensive. Therefore, in this paper, a simple two-port microwave heating model was established as an equivalent by COMSOl multiphysics, and the potato was taken as the heated object, and the significant improvement of energy use efficiency was achieved by optimizing the port positions. The results show that the optimized energy utilization is improved by 12%, and the average temperature of the potato increases by about 6.5 °C for the same heating time.
