A Segment-Based Fast Coherent Integration Method for High-Speed Maneuvering Targets

For high-speed maneuvering targets, long-time accumulation can lead to range migration and Doppler spread, which severely impact target focusing and consequently degrade detection performance. To address this issue, this paper proposes a segment-based method for rapid coherent accumulation of highspeed maneuvering targets, which is divided into intra-frame (intra-segment) and inter-frame (inter-segment) processing. Initially, the target echoes are segmented reasonably by setting constraint conditions, such that the range migration and Doppler spread within each segment can be neglected. Subsequently, a fast Fourier transform (FFT) is applied along the slow-time axis within each frame to achieve intra-frame accumulation. During inter-frame processing, the range domain(fast time domain) is converted to the range-frequency domain(fast-frequency domain), and coarse Doppler channels (intra-frame Doppler) are traversed. A phase compensation function is constructed to correct the first-order range migration frame by frame, followed by an inverse FFT to revert to the range domain, thereby avoiding the high computational load associated with the keystone transform (KT). A rapid two-dimensional target parameter search method, based on the singular value decomposition (SVD) principle, is then employed to compensate for higher-order phase terms, further reducing computational complexity. Finally, an FFT is performed along the frame dimension to search for velocity. Simulation experiments confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.
