Direct Torque and Flux Control of PMSM Drive With ANN-LSTM Controller for Reduction in Torque Ripples

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) are widely used for numerous applications. The article presents a discrete Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) method utilized in Direct Torque Control (DTC) of PMSM. This method achieves a harmonious blend of efficiency and ease by utilizing pulse sequence. The discrete SVPWM exhibits the ability to produce a greater number of voltage vectors in contrast to the traditional DTC approach. This is accomplished by utilizing various look-up tables that are dependent on the induced EMF voltage in the stator winding. Furthermore, the implementation includes SVPWM and ANN-LSTM regulators essential for DTC to achieve smooth and precious responses under various operating scenarios. One way to minimize torque ripple is by determining the necessary adjustment in the stator flux vector to effectively correct any discrepancies in flux and torque. While this method successfully minimizes torque and flux fluctuations, it requires the utilization of over six vector directions in order to attain independent control of the machine's flux and torque. Additionally, this document outlines the regulation of a PMSM via sensorless speed control employing a MRAC and LSTM controllers. The effectiveness of the suggested approach is confirmed through simulation conducted with Hardware - in the - Loop (HIL) on the OPAL-RT platform.
