Printed Array Antenna with Metasurface Using Superstrate Technique for IOT Applications

Metasurfaces have demonstrated previously unheard-of control over electromagnetic waves. They do away with the necessity for large metamaterials and offer new functions not found in traditional diffractive devices by using structures with dimensions far smaller than the wavelength. The development of Microstrip Array Antennas was the initial goal of this article, and it later progressed to the development and application of Metasurface Superstate on top of the microstrip array antennas. Antenna parameters like as gain, VSWR, and return loss are observed to improve for Metasurface Superstate and also have low power consumption after applying a superstate to the array of antennas. Proposed Metasurface superstate is used on the antenna array's two patches. The unit cell has dimensions of $5.76 \times 1.92 ~\text{mm}$ due to its operating at 5.2 GHz. The Completely Suggested Metasurface Array Antenna is implemented on FR-4 Substrate and designed using HFSS. The range and dependability of IOT communications, which frequently rely on low-power wireless protocols like Bluetooth, ZigBee, and LoRa, could be increased with the help of proposed metasurface antennas. Metasurfaces are well known for their ability to use sub wavelength unit cells to regulate electromagnetic waves on demand. In this instance, their frequency properties can be linked to IOT tag IDs.
