Design and Analysis of Triangular-Slotted MIMO Antenna with DGS for Wireless Communication Applications

This paper proposes the design of a Triangular-Slotted Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna featuring a Defected Ground Structure (DGS) for wireless communication applications. The antenna comprises of two radiating elements on the top and a defected ground structure at the bottom, assembled on FR4 substrate. The suggested MIMO antenna has a high isolation loss of -47.70 dB and very low mutual coupling while being compact and efficient. The use of triangular slots improves isolation between antenna elements and enables multi-band operation. Furthermore, the antenna has a high gain of 15.3 dB at 9.9 GHz, indicating its effectiveness. The DGS approach enhances both impedance matching and bandwidth augmentation. The simulation results highlights the effectiveness of the antenna by examining return loss, radiation pattern, and gain to make it an effective choice for the modern wireless communication systems such as 5G networks.
