Adaptive Clutter Suppression for Target Detection in Through-Wall Imaging

This paper Outlines a framework for adaptive clutter suppression and target detection in Through-the-Wall Imaging (TWI) systems. The delay-sum beamforming technique has been Implemented for high-resolution imaging, enabling the precise localization of stationary targets, such as wood and metal, behind a wall. To mitigate artifacts, Adaptive gaussian filtering is applied for enhancing the overall image quality. Thresholding methods were used to improve target contrast followed with the Canny edge filtering to refine the detection by highlighting clear boundaries of the targets. The resultant B-scan images confirm effectiveness of the proposed methodology, achieving enhanced target identification and material characterization. This methodology obtained by integrating various techniques, offers a holistic framework for clutter suppression and target detection in TWI systems, consequently advancing the field of radar imaging.
