Design and Analysis of a Modified U-Shaped Slot Microstrip Antenna Using Fabric - Based Substrates for RFID Systems

This paper presents the design and analysis of a microstrip patch antenna optimized for RFID applications at 2.45 GHz. The proposed antenna utilizes a polyamide substrate with a dielectric thickness of 1.6 mm and a relative permittivity of 1.7, ensuring a balance between compactness and performance. The design is optimized to achieve wide bandwidth, minimal return loss, high directivity, and optimal gain, enhancing its reliability in RFID systems. Key performance parameters, including return loss, directivity, bandwidth, and radiation pattern, are carefully analyzed to meet RFID application requirements. The results demonstrate that the proposed antenna offers improved impedance matching and radiation characteristics, making it a suitable candidate for efficient RFID communication.
