IoT Based Smart Human Following Trolley with Billing

In recent days, supermarkets are well developed with sophisticated technology. People purchase different items from supermarkets and put them into a trolley that can be moved forward. It is the best and easiest method used in supermarkets to carry goods. However, throughout the entire process of shopping, customer should push the trolley manually by their own effort and when it comes to billing process, customers must wait at the billing counter in long queues to pay their bills. This is a time consuming process that disturbs the schedule of the customers. To avoid these issues, an effective and highly advanced trolley system is introduced. This work targets to design a trolley system that follows the movement of the person from place to place while picking up items and minimizing the queue at the billing counter. This research aims to develop a trolley equipped with advanced sensors, sophisticated camera, actuators and billing system, enhancing convenience for the shoppers while improving efficiency for retailers, thus, providing hands-free shopping experience. The system employs infrared sensors for tracking the items, a camera for human following capabilities, RFID scanning for product identification and secure billing system integrated directly into the trolley. By automating the checkout process and enabling seamless interaction between users and the trolley, this solution promises to revolutionize traditional shopping practice.
