Integrating Budget Management and ERP Systems to Achieve a Single Source of Truth: A Case Study of PT PLN (Persero)

PT PLN (Persero) is currently facing a range of challenges in its daily operations, including the complexity of asset monitoring, the reliance on manual processes, slow budget simulation workflows, the proliferation of multiple applications with overlapping functions, and an outdated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. These issues hinder the organization’s ability to manage its operations and decision-making processes efficiently. To address these challenges, the company has initiated the Single Source of Truth (SSoT) program. This program aims to standardize business processes, automate manual tasks, streamline application management, and integrate the ERP system to create a reliable and cohesive source of information. The objective of this research is to investigate the integration of budget management applications with the ERP system, ultimately establishing a unified platform that ensures the accuracy and consistency of data throughout the organization. A qualitative research methodology will be employed to investigate how the integration of these systems can improve the reliability and transparency of data shared among various stakeholders. The research will focus on the impact of this integration on simplifying business processes, improving decision-making, and aligning the organization’s financial and operational activities more effectively. By studying the potential benefits, the research aims to provide valuable insights into how PT PLN (Persero) can optimize its workflows and enhance organizational efficiency through a modernized and integrated ERP system.
