Research on the Decomposition Method of Medium and Long-Term Contracts for Hydro-Wind-Solar Power Considering the Maximization of Comprehensive Returns

In the context of the construction of the electricity spot market, the combined participation of hydropower, wind power and solar power in the electricity market transactions is of great significance for the consumption of new energy and the stability of the power system. This paper takes a hydro-wind-solar power station in a certain basin in southwest China as the research object and proposes a medium and long-term contract decomposition method for the joint participation of hydropower, wind power and solar power in the power market that considers maximizing comprehensive benefits. First, Qualitative and quantitative analyses demonstrate the complementary nature of water, wind, and solar energy. Next, the Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) and K-Medoids algorithm are used to generate multi-scenario electricity price data to provide data support for the case study. Then, a medium to long-term contract decomposition method that takes into account both medium to long-term revenue and spot revenue is proposed. Finally, through case studies, it is verified that this method can increase the total revenue of power generators compared to participating only in the medium and long-term market and non-optimized contract decomposition. In addition, research shows that seasonal factors influence contract decomposition and power generation scheduling by altering electricity price characteristics, energy output characteristics, and market supply and demand relationships. The research results of this paper provide a scientific model for the combined participation of hydropower, wind power and solar power in the power market transactions, and have theoretical and practical significance for promoting the optimal operation of the power market and the consumption of clean energy.
